Rich and oily on the lush and elegant palate, this is a generous yet refined and stimulatingly saline Trockenbeerenauslese with pretty sweet but also aromatic and well-balanced fruit. Mittleres, leuchtendes Gelb. Zeigt von Anfang an seine beeindruckende Süsse! Das Bouquet reflektiert; helle Rosinen, Akazienhonig, Pfirsich und tropikale Früchte in Form von Mango und Papaya. Im Gaumen zeigt er sich oberopulent. Die Säure und die Süsse polarisieren sich noch gegenseitig. Gegen das Finale wird er noch fruchtexotischer und zeigt jetzt auch Passionsfrucht und Lychees. Im satten Extrakt bleibt eine zarte Note von Kumquats und Bitterorange. Vor allem beeindruckt auch seine gewaltige Länge. Gehört zu den Kollektionsbesten. Rene Gabriel Komplexes Bouquet mit Noten von Graphit, Muskatnuss, Limetten und weißem Pfeffer. Mit Luft offenbart er auch Rosenwasser- und Kumquatnoten. Nach einem dichten Auftakt zeigt sich der Wein cremig, linear und harmonisch. Letzteres verdankt er einer großartigen Säurestruktur, die sich der Süße entgegenstellt und schließlich mit ihr fusioniert. Ein feiner, saftiger und lang anhaltender Wein, der sich durch seine Eigenschaft auszeichnet, charaktervolle Komponenten miteinander zu verbinden. Der Einklang zwischen Süße, Salzigkeit und Bitterkeit ist erfreulich. This is wondrously indulgent. Caramel au beurre salé, peanut brittle, brandy snaps, fresh ginger, ginger ale, fresh peach, nectarine and while pear. A touch of angelica too and candied citrus peel. Rich, viscous and glossy, but with great poise, tension and energy coming from the bitingly fresh acidity. It acts like tannin, grip and directing the fruit and preventing this from even thinking of becoming fat or heavy. The effect is bold and dramatic and that makes this one of the real stars of the Collection case this year. I love the ginger note that runs through this from start to finish. 97. Colin Hay

2021 Trockenbeerenauslese No.6 Welschriesling The 2021 Welschriesling TBA No. 6 Zwischen den Seen Kollektion has the purity of fresh pomelo blended with quince. The palate is supremely streamlined and brighter than its siblings but so concentrated and intense. Its passionfruit- and peach-tinged finish shows what the future holds. This has such sweetness and sinuousness. - Vinous Very complex nose of dried peaches, honeysuckle and lemon curd. Very concentrated and succulent yet cool, with a terrific citrusy freshness in the very long, beautifully balanced, silky finish. Needs some time to give its best, but already a beauty. Drink or hold. 96/100 Stuart Pigott - jamessuckling.com The 2021 Trockenbeerenauslese No 6 Welschriesling Zwischen den Seen is deep, very clear, precise and savory on the dense and complex nose that shows bergamot and lavender notes along with quince and lemon aromas. Rich and generous on the palate, this is a very sweet and oily yet also savory and finessed TBA that is a spectacularly generous, finely tannic and balanced Welschriesling that fermented slowly for 18 months to end up as one of Kracher's greatest TBAs. With close to 340 g/l of residual sugar we enter into a different realm of viscosity here, but still with an amazingly visceral sense of freshness. Freshly grated coconut, buttered and gently toasted brioche, a little frangipane and roasted blanched almonds and a hint of grilled pineapple. On the palate I am reminded a little of Lafaurie Peyraguey – lanolin and pineapple, lime zest. This is, amazing though it is to write, incredibly delicate and subtle. It’s even a little introvert but with the most fabulous texture. Utterly captivating and difficult to imagine without tasting it. With yeasty aromas on the intense and concentrated nose of stewed apricots, this is a rich, lush, elegant, super dense and persistent TBA with great finesse and very fine tannins. This is a gorgeous, very long, fresh and complex yet filigreed TBA with beautifully salinity. 12% alcohol. A great new (old) style for Kracher. Tasted in Illmitz, December 2018. (WineAdvocate)
