The 2024 Spätlese Cuvée I is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Blanc and 10% Welschriesling, all picked in Ilmitz with a small proportion of botrytis and was made in stainless steel. The nose is surprisingly floral and completely fresh, with an edge of elderflower and distinct lemon. On the palate, the wine is light and rounded, supple with gentle, lemon-edged sweetness on a juicy, light body that shows plenty of lemon freshness and more of that elderflower character. 2025 Grüner Veltliner Burgenland
From a vintage with, finally, enough rain and normal rather than extreme summer temperatures and from vineyards between Illmitz and Podersdorf that were planted for ice wine about 25 years ago, the 2024 Grüner Veltliner trocken offers a deep, intense and spicy bouquet that indicates a serious substance for such a young wine that spent five months on the fine lees. Ripe seed-fruit aromas intertwine with almost flinty, seriously mineral notes. Elegant and refined on the palate, this is a medium- to full-bodied, savory and textured Veltliner with a serious structure and a stimulating saline and grippy finish. From a very warm and dry year and aged for 15 months on the fine lees entirely in stainless steel, the 2023 Pinot Gris trocken offers a clear, precise and fresh, even savory and slightly flinty bouquet with the characterful Illmitz features that combine elegant and charming fruit with delicate saline nuances. The wine is round and textured on the palate due to the extended sur lie aging and reveals serious tannic grip and elegant intensity that leads to a very good, well-concentrated but balanced finish. This is a very good Pinot Gris for such a warm vintage.
“Twenty years ago, you could easily take two weeks to harvest Pinot Gris, but now, in warm autumns, you only have three days,” says Gerhard Kracher. ”After that, the sugar content can skyrocket and the acidity can plummet, making the wines too heavy and broad.” Kracher's 2023 Pinot Gris is an excellent modern wine with character and a great talent to pair with countless dishes. The 2021 Beerenauslese Zweigelt is once again a feat of winemaking. It is made from 60-70% botrytized fruit, resulting in a brilliantly pink hue.
The lift of botrytis adds lift to the candied strawberry note on the nose, along with a touch of pepper. The palate is rich, candied and sweet yet beautifully fresh. The purity of this wine is astonishing. Its length, creaminess and smoothness are next level. 94/100 Vinous

Assembling fully ripe and overripe, late-harvested Chardonnay, Welschriesling and Scheurebe and bottled in March this year after 4.5 years in new barriques, the 2019 K offers a deep, intense and finely spicy, partly yeasty and phenolic bouquet of fully ripe and concentrated autumn fruits initially intermingled with some untamed leathery nuances yet with more air and also tropical fruit aromas such as mangoes, pineapples and melons. Full-bodied and rich on the palate, with a very dense and concentrated texture and seriously savory/mineral and phenolic grip, this is a still-challenging wine with a mouth-filling texture and serious structure. This is an old-fashioned white made in a contemporary way. The wine is aromatic, fresh and elegant yet also powerful and rich. It is well balanced, saline and vital on the finish yet still very young, with citrus fruit bitters. The finish is intense and complex and the aftertaste very long, intense and spicy, with serious grip and structural as well aromatic persistency. To be released at the end of this year. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2024. The 2021 K is a homage to the old-style family reserves once made in Burgenland and to Gerhard Kracher's grandfather. It is a blend of half Drinking Window Chardonnay with a quarter each of Welshriesling and Scheurebe, picked 2026 - 2035
late with a touch of botrytis. The wine was matured for four years in barrique. Candied peach, creaminess, roasted hazelnut praline and maple syrup create a most unusual nose. The palate brings melted butter, fresh cream and peach compote. This is a complex, creamy but dry wine-rounded, rich, layered and full of flavor, pervaded by vivid freshness.
