Kracher Library Release

In the mid-1990s, Alois Kracher Jr. began storing parts of the Kracher collection in a specially constructed wine library for posterity. The idea came to him because many restaurants did not have the opportunity to store wines optimally in order to build up vintage depth. For several decades now, this storage facility has allowed us to bring older vintages back onto the market in small quantities for our customers after 10, 15, 20 or even 25 years. After bottling, these wines are stored directly in our wine library under perfect conditions and only offered again after many years or even decades. Numerous wine lovers from all over the world therefore eagerly await the library release year after year. Every bottle of the TBA collection that is more than 10 years old receives a sticker when it leaves our cellar - as a guarantee of perfect storage up to this point.

2000 TBA No. 1 Traminer
Dusty, smoky botrytis aromas are intermingled with spicy apricots in the nose of the 2000 #1 Traminer Trockenbeerenauslese Nouvelle Vague. Medium to full-bodied, bold, and lush, it reveals oak-laced peach flavors, loads of dusty noble rot, and a slightly rustic finish. This oily-textured, lush wine has outstanding concentration and depth. However, even with 116.2 grams of residual sugar per liter (14% alcohol, 5.6 grams/liter total acidity), it is dominated by Kracher’s other 2000s. 92/100 The Wine Advocate / Pierre Rovani
