Our red wines come in three exciting styles - authentic, expressive and with an unmistakable signature. 

Zweigelt is the uncomplicated all-rounder for every day: fruity, a pleasure when slightly chilled, with gentle tannins and a fine berry aroma. The perfect companion in restaurants - and at home anyway. 

Blend I is powerful, deep and elegantly matured. Composed differently depending on the vintage, it impresses with its dark fruit, structure and impressive depth. A red wine with personality and ageing potential. 

Blend II combines Austrian typicity with an international format: Cabernet and Merlot provide structure and expression, while ageing in steel tanks ensures freshness. A modern Burgenland blend with juicy fruit and charming spice.

The 2019 Blend 1 trocken is a pure Illmitz Zweigelt that was aged for four years in medium-toasted barriques. It opens with a fascinating deep, intense and elegant nose of concentrated red fruits, such as cowberries and small red plums, intermingled with Earl Grey, toast and noble chocolate notes. The wine is elegant and silky on the pristine palate, juicy and beautifully balanced and reveals finely grained tannins and fine salinity on the finish that makes it an outstanding red wine from the Seewinkel. The 2020 Blend 2 trocken is an assemblage of Zweigelt, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Illmitz's sand and gravel soils. It was aged in predominantly used barriques for 30 months and reveals a beautifully clear, fresh dark-red color and opens with a perfectly ripe and aromatic dark berry bouquet with notes of cherries, black berries and cassis intermingled with delicate toast and black tea as well as leather nuances. Very elegant and refined on the palate, this is a medium- to full-bodied blend that was once created by Alois Kracher. Dunkles Rubinrot mit violetten Schimmern. In der Nase entfalten sich die typischen Aromen von Weichsel und reifen Kirschen, begleitet von einem Hauch floraler Frische und zarten Vanillenoten. Am Gaumen zeigt er sich saftig, mit einer dezenten Würze und Aromen von Zwetschken und dunklen Beeren. Die Tannine sind sanft eingebunden, die mittlere Säure sorgt für eine elegante Balance. Ein Wein, der mit jeder Entfaltung mehr begeistert und einfach zum Weitertrinken einlädt. Perfekt zu einem saftigen Rindersteak, herzhaften Spaghetti Bolognese, würzigen, vollmundigen Hartkäsen und einem klassischen Gänsebraten.
