2024 Welschriesling
Weinlaubenhof Kracher
The 2024 Welschriesling contains a small portion of wine made in 1,000 liter barrels, so a certain creaminess joins yeastiness on the nose. The palate is light, bright and vivid, with a lovely, salty yeastiness from aging on long lees. So far from the sea, this makes you long for an oyster. By Anne Krebiehl, Vinous
The 2024 Welschriesling trocken is intense and textural on the nose that is quite complete and elegant, with ripe and intense fruit aromas reminiscent of ripe seed fruits intertwined with sur lie notes, even though the wine was racked from the fine lees after four months due to market needs. The medium-bodied wine is very elegant and nicely textured, whereas the serious and crunchy finish is clear, light, fresh, pretty straight and savory. 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at Weinlaubenhof Kracher in Illmitz, Burgenland, in June 2025. By Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
