2009 TBA No. 9 Chardonnay

Dark ruby garnet colour, violet reflections. Aromas of dark berries and fine floral notes on the nose. Juicy on the palate, subtle herbal spice, dark berry confit, stewed plums and ripe cherry fruit on the finish.

Vinified in new barriques for more than two years, the 2020 Trockenbeerenauslese No. 1 Zweigelt Nouvelle Vague displays a brick, almost dark salmon color. It is intense and finely concentrated yet also super pure, fresh and elegant on the exotic, tropical nose with candied orange zest and sugared pink grapefruit aromas intertwined with notes of dragon fruits, ly chee, plums, cherries, fresh strawberries, raspberries, coconut (Bounty) and nougat notes. Dense, round and sweet but elegant and refined on the palate, this is an intense yet balanced, stimulatingly saline and nicely bitter reddish/pink TBA with a serious and long finish structured by tart but fine tannin bitters. Try it with game dishes, classic tartes and chocolate desserts. 10.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in Lütjensee, Hamburg, in June 2023. Attractive grapey bouquet, intense nutmeg, floral nuances. Fine grapefruit zest and intense tropical fruit flavours on the palate. Fine tannins, well-integrated sweetness, delicate honey notes on the finish.

The apricot-coloured 2017 Welschriesling Trockenbeerenauslese 60th Anniversary, which was tasted as a sample from the 1,000-litre oak barrel, is a tribute to the early days when the grapes for sweet wines were crushed for one day and stored on the full lees in large oak for almost a year. With yeasty aromas on the intense and concentrated nose, reminiscent of stewed apricots, this is a rich, lush, elegant, very dense and persistent TBA with great finesse and very fine tannins. Strong yellow gold, broad watery rim, floral nose, scent of orchids, spicy wood, cinnamon, cloves, powerful on the palate, almost breathtaking, tastes a little caramel-malty on the finish, medium length.The 1999 No 3 Chardonnay / Welschriesling Nouvelle Vague Trockenbeerenauslese offers demure white peach aromas. On the palate, this zesty medium to full-bodied offering reveals candied tart apple flavors. It is tightly wound and acts like a wine that will be substantially better with cellaring.
