N/V Noble Reserve Trockenbeerenauslese

Weinlaubenhof Kracher , Österreich
Bright yellow gold. Fine nutty notes on the nose, fresh orange peel, mace, yellow peach fruit, fine herbal spice, which becomes darker and darker with air and takes on notes of damp straw and malt. Juicy yellow tropical fruit on the palate, delicate hints of passion fruit and pineapple, full-bodied, creamy and round, very harmonious and accessible, juicy apricot confit on the finish, already easy to drink and use.

2004 TBA No. 8 Traminer
Medium golden yellow colour. Delicately smoky, vegetal fruit, good hints of Tramineran in view of the high gradation. Clearly dominated by wood on the palate, still a little tattered at the moment. Rich in extract and long, needs a lot of time and patience, mineral and finely flavoured, will probably need a few years to consolidate. Kracher’s 2004 No 8 Traminer Trockenbeerenauslese Nouvelle Vague is impressively-scented with candied rose petal and violets, spiced lychee, and vanilla. At only 9.5% alcohol, and given its low acidity, this T.B.A. is struggling a bit to deal with its 239 grams of residual sugar and an overtly resinous note of new wood. Candied flowers and cinnamon candy linger. 89/100 The Wine Advocate / David Schildknecht
